Learn, play and connect online in Teen Comedy Essentials (ages 11 and up). This fun and insightful six-week course will start you on a path toward a career in Hollywood. Teen Comedy Essentials culminates in an exclusive Network Overview class with Studio Executive and Producer Irene Dreayer. Irene has produced multiple series on Disney, Nickelodeon and ABC Family.
Lauren will help you find the funny in comedy scripts, navigate the TV Industry and deliver your best on-camera performance. Irene will offer inside information on what it takes to book the room! All students receive a 10-minute career consultation upon completion of this course. Teen Comedy Essentials is an age-appropriate adaptation of our adult Comedy Essentials course that will give you powerful tools you will use throughout your lifetime.

When she is not coaching actors, Lauren works on set as a Studio Teacher. A Studio Teacher/Welfare Worker is a specialized teacher who educates and protects the welfare of minors while they are working in the Entertainment Industry. Some of her recent credits include; Annie Live!, Goodnight Mommy, Head of the Class, OK Boomer, This is Us, Never Have I Ever, Dear White People, Diary of a Future President, The Big Show Show, American Housewife, Sydney to the Max, Grown-ish and World of Dance.

Is there a prerequisite for this class?
No. This is the starting point for learning to act for television comedy.
Advanced and working actors are welcome to begin in Teen Audition Code or Pro Workout depending on experience and instructor approval. Please contact our studio for more information.
What age group is this class for?
Teen Comedy Essentials is for students ages 11-18. Students under age 11 may be approved to join class pending instructor approval. Please contact info@actorscomedystudio.com before enrolling a student under age 11.
I have zero experience. Will I be okay?
Yes! Our program is built to accommodate young actors learning from scratch and experienced actors who want our specialized training in television comedy.
What is the class size?
Each online class section is limited to a maximum of 14 students.
How often does Comedy Essentials meet?
Once a week, online, for six consecutive weeks.
What if I miss a class?
You can email your instructor at info@actorscomedystudio.com for notes and any materials handed out in class. This 6-week course does not have a make-up option.
How do I sign up for a course?
For Teen Comedy Essentials, you can register online and pay for the course using a credit card or debit card. Please tell us the NAME and AGE of the student in the “Notes” section during checkout.
Can I check out the class before signing up?
